Youth Orchestra Senior Conductor

Toby Monte maintains an active career as a performer, conductor and educator. As a performer, he holds positions in the trumpet sections of the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra and the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra. He has performed in concert with Joshua Bell, Yo-Yo Ma and John Pizzarelli. In 2000, Mr. Monte joined the faculty of the UMass Dartmouth Music Department where he directs the Wind Ensemble and Jazz Orchestra. In 2010, he was named Artistic Director and Senior Orchestra Conductor for the New Bedford Symphony Youth Orchestra organization. Toby has a CAGS from Bridgewater State University, a master’s from Rhode Island College and a BM from the University of Lowell.
