SEMAYO 2026 Summer Camp
Thank you for visiting the Southeastern Massachusetts Youth Orchestras (SEMAYO) 2026 Summer Camp page! We are a youth orchestra program of multiple levels of performing orchestral groups, and we are hosting our fourth annual summer camp. We’re so happy you’re joining us!
Our summer camp, SEMAYO Summer 2026, offers multiple performing groups of various skill levels, so everyone has a place to be. We are also offering other opportunities, such as special guests, masterclasses, field games, music theory, music history, and more!
Interested students will need to submit an audition video by Monday, June 29, 2026, for ensemble placement purposes. Instructions on the video submission will be forthcoming for registered campers. Please note we are also accepting wind and percussion students to this camp. Camp is open to any students who have completed 4th grade up to age 17.
Here’s the info you’ll need to decide if you can attend camp:
Location: University of Massachusetts Dartmouth – College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA) building (parking lot 9)
Dates: Monday, August 3 – Friday, August 7, 2026
Times: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm (drop off 8:30 – 9:00 am)
Performance: August 7, 3:00 pm
Cost: $300 for single campers. Please add $150 for each additional sibling. Full payments only. No refunds after Monday, July 6, 2026. Payments may be made at the bottom of this page. Please email Program Director Mr. Daniels at youth@nbsymphony.org with any questions.
Please note: A sum of money is set aside each year to assist participants who might otherwise be unable to participate in the youth orchestra summer camp. The NBSO ensures confidentiality. To apply for financial aid, submit this form to youth@nbsymphony.org
Audition Requirements:
All campers are asked to submit an audition video for ensemble placement purposes. The videos allow us to have more time playing during camp and help us have music ready to go on the first day. Any students who are actively enrolled and participating in SEMAYO are not required to audition. Please send, share, or email your videos to youth@nbsymphony.org. It is recommended that you have your school music teacher or private teacher help you choose your audition piece and assist with preparing your video.
Registration Deadline: Application, payment, and video submissions are due by Monday, June 22. All applications are accepted.

Lustrous baritone Philip Lima joins NBSO core musicians in an eclectic potpourri ranging from Ralph Vaughan Williams’s Songs of Travel and Samuel Barber’s Dover Beach to the earthy songs of Charles Ives and three spirituals. A piano quartet by Portuguese master Joly Braga Santos and The Toreador’s Prayer by Joaquín Turina offer interludes of instrumental poetry and brilliance.
Tickets are not available at the door.

If concerts sell out, you may request to be added to a waitlist by emailing asmith@nbsymphony.org by noon on the Friday prior to the concert.
