Director of Philanthropic Engagement

Rhonda Veugen is Director of Philanthropic Engagement at the New Bedford Symphony Orchestra, where she has served since 2021. In this role, she leads donor relations, sponsorships, and fundraising initiatives to advance the Symphony’s mission of inspiring through music, education, and community. She works closely with supporters to build lasting partnerships, deepen donor engagement, and ensure the Symphony’s programs continue to grow and thrive for generations to come.

With more than 30 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, Rhonda has worked with local, regional, and national organizations to direct successful annual, capital, and endowment campaigns that have strengthened institutions and expanded their reach. Her expertise spans major gifts, corporate partnerships, and strategic planning, with a proven record of creating sustainable fundraising strategies and building strong community connections. She is also active in regional civic life, having served in volunteer and elected leadership roles that reflect her commitment to strengthening the South Coast. When she’s not working, Rhonda can often be found sailing around Buzzards Bay or planning the next adventure with her family.
