Elisa Birdseye

Personnel Manager/Librarian

Elisa Birdseye has worked for the New Bedford Symphony since 1999 as the Personnel Manager and Librarian. As of the 2022-23 season she is working as Librarian for the Symphony, organizing the music for every NBSO orchestra concert throughout the season. She is also a violist with the orchestra, now in the section after retiring from principal viola, a role she held for 15 years. She has worked as the General Manager of Boston Musica Viva, New England Philharmonic, and is an active recitalist and chamber musician. Additionally, she is an occasional contributor to the Boston Musical Intelligencer. Her undergraduate degree is in Viola Performance from the New England Conservatory, and she also holds a Master’s in Library Science from Simmons College.

In addition to her musical activities, Elisa serves on several Boards including Work, Inc., and she is an Associate Parks Commissioner for the City of Boston.

These days you can also find Elisa playing her electric viola in any of the following bands: The Boston ILL Harmonic, the Richie Parsons Band, or the Arch Street Band based at St. Anthony’s Shrine in Boston.
