Sergei Prokofiev:

Peter and the Wolf Reimagined

Violin Concerto No. 1

Violin Concerto No. 2

Suite from Romeo and Juliet

Yaniv Dinur, Conductor
Yevgeny Kutik, Violin
James VanDemark, Writer and Narrator

Hailed by The New York Times for his “dark-hued tone and razor-sharp technique,” violinist Yevgeny Kutik returns to the NBSO to perform both Prokofiev’s violin concertos – two virtuosic pieces that create opposite sound worlds. In this program of orchestral fireworks dedicated to the great Russian composer, the orchestra opens with a new rendition of the popular Peter and the Wolf and tops it off with a suite from the stirring ballet Romeo and Juliet.
