Mozart & Mahler

Yaniv Dinur, Music Director

Mozart & Mahler

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Piano Concerto No. 20

Gustav Mahler: Symphony No. 4

Yaniv Dinur, Conductor | Piano
Liv Redpath, Soprano

In what has become a tradition on opening night, the NBSO kicks things off with a Mahler symphony – this time the lyrical and delicate Fourth, featuring rising soprano Liv Redpath. On the first half, Music Director Yaniv Dinur plays and conducts from the keyboard one of Mozart’s only two piano concertos written in the minor key. The D Minor Concerto is a dramatic and tragic piece until the end – when Mozart laughs it all off.
